Lincoln International today announced it will hold its annual Building & Construction conference Tuesday, June 24 at the New York Athletic Club. The event also will be co-hosted by Arthur D. Little, the leading Global Management Consultancy, linking Strategy, Innovation and Technology. As the leading mid-market advisor in building and construction, Lincoln has completed approximately 50 assignments in the industry since 2005. The firm’s areas of focus include building materials and products, construction equipment and services and infrastructure in the non-residential and residential markets. Arthur D. Little has worked with over 100 private equity and hedge fund clients worldwide and has helped clients to not only increase their returns but also decrease their holding periods through proprietary deal flow assistance, transparency-building due diligence and immediate action on value creation opportunities.
The conference will examine the state of the industry with panel discussions among the sector’s most influential players, including senior industry executives and investors from several leading North American, European and Asian companies and private equity firms.
The key note speaker will be Kermit Baker, who is the chief economist of the American Institute of Architects and a senior research fellow for Harvard University's Joint Center for Housing Studies. Baker is widely known for his long history of industry forecasting, having served as Vice President and Director of the economics department at Reed Business Information where he developed the Top U.S. Construction Market Report, and as editor of the Reed Business Information's Construction Market Forecast newsletter.
Topics on the agenda will include the time to invest in the building and construction industry, when the residential market will hit bottom, which sectors are ripe for consolidation and how companies can position themselves to emerge from today’s challenging environment even stronger than before.
“Building and construction companies face increased challenges in today’s uncertain economic environment and must compete in an increasingly global market in order to thrive,” said Andrew Bohutinsky, managing director and head of Lincoln International’s Building & Construction group. “This unique session will explore all of these factors and what they mean for companies and financial sponsors that invest in the residential and non-residential building and construction markets.”
Natan Shklyar, Director and Managing Partner of Arthur D. Little’s Private Equity Practice states, “We are delighted to be co-hosting this conference with Lincoln International. Many of our clients are active, or considering increasing their activity in building and construction industry M&A, and we believe this session will help them understand the opportunities and threats in the sector.” Lincoln International’s Building & Construction conference held in Chicago in May 2007 was a great success, hosting high-profile attendees from the building and construction industry and providing them with opportunities to network and build further relationships with industry peers and contacts. A similar format will be adopted for this year’s event in New York.
