About Urs

Urs is a Principal at Arthur D. Little, based in Dubai. He leads the Rail Competence Center in the Middle East Travel & Transportation Practice.

Urs brings combined experience from 12 years of top-tier strategy consulting and eight years in the industry. The focus of his consulting work has been the transport sector, in which he has advised clients across all railway-related areas, including freight, passenger, infrastructure, MRO, rolling stock, and financing, as well as in aviation and aerospace, logistics, maritime and automotive.

As the Strategy Director for Etihad Rail, he shaped the UAE’s National Railway both conceptually and with his leadership in execution. And as Group Chief Strategy Officer and Member of the Group Investment Committee of Abdul Latif Jameel, he led a large transformation and growth program.

Urs has managed many large, complex, international, interdisciplinary projects that have required coordination of cross-functional teams and stakeholders. The main focus has been on the development and implementation of growth strategies, network optimization, operational excellence and supply chain management, as well as M&A and financing. He has a passion for complex operational optimization problems, developing winning business models and streamlining processes.

Urs started his consulting career in 1999 in Zurich, and moved to Dubai in 2007. His engagements have given him broad international exposure, having worked across the European and Middle Eastern markets.

Outside work, Urs likes to stay fit and spend time with his family.
